It's hard to believe we have had Liam for 5 days. 5 incredible days of getting to know him; his personality; his sleeping habits; what makes him laugh; what makes him cry; the foods he likes; and the list goes on. We became a family of 3 in Nanjing, China. What an incredible city!! Here is a look:
Nanjing is the capital of the Jiangsu Province and is located on the Yangtze River. Nanjing has long been one of Chinas most important cities having been the capital of 6 different dynasties since 3 A.D.
Our hotel was located in the perfect spot - right in the middle of this cool local district. We were visiting Nanjing during the best time, the lantern festival. The Lantern Festival is celebrated on the 15th day of the Chinese lunar year and traditionally ends the Chinese New Year. It just so happened the temple located directly behind our hotel draws crowds of nearly 400,000!! They come to pay their respects to the Confucius Temple.
And what is a visit to China without a stop at the hospital. That's right.....I was ILL!! We were able to find a doctor to give me IV fluids and medicine. Liam hammed it up with the nurses and came alive!
We packed up on Thursday night and Friday said goodbye to Nanjing and flew south to Guangzhou. Liam helped us pack! Flying with a 16 month old is no joke!! But we made it :) after 30 minutes of Liam screaming and mommy crying we have arrived to warmer weather and a group of other adoptive parents to hang out with.

My goodness...hope you are feeling better.
ReplyDeletePraying for your renewed strength and peace. God bless!!!
