THE EAGLE HAS LANDED IN BEIJING

We made it to Beijing!  Our flight wasn't bad at all.  14 hours flew by (no pun intended).  Slept a bunch and watched Game of Thrones (thank you Eric!).  Chicago was a great layover airport.  We scoped out the areas for kids to play - already thinking ahead as parents.  BUT then found a local watering hole....this is going to take some getting used to!!

We learned all sorts of things in the airport......

Taking off for a 14 hour flight - BOOM

I wonder if sweet Liam has ever seen the sunrise like this....

We met our guide, Heidi, at the airport.  I told her only cool people were named Heidi (you're welcome sister).  She is already a GEM and showed us around Beijing.  Below are some pics of the evening.....

Our hotel is in a super cool part of Beijing (thank you Kenneth Grey).

This cool marketplace is full of STREET MEAT (for all my northern family ahhem, Maddy Sweeney).  Kenneth Grey cannot wait to try this stuff.  I, on the other hand, will stick with the dumplings per my great pal Megano's advice.

We finally decided on a restaurant and had an awesome meal!

More of the adventure to come tomorrow........good night.
