WOW What an awesome weekend we had!! Can't believe how fast it flew by. It was definitely sad to leave my family yesterday but we are so looking forward to meeting our new nephew in a couple of weeks.
We got in on a late flight Thursday night and stayed with Joe and Mady at their adorable pad overlooking the ocean. What a gorgeous view to wake up to!! Momma Judy's pies came to Boston with us!! One was given to Joe for his upcoming birthday. Ken thought it was hilarious when the ticket agent asked if I had any liquids he said they should check the center of my pie. Very funny!!
Friday morning we checked into our hotel and had the most beautiful view!! Joe & Mady had a bottle of champagne sent to our room for our anniversary. AWWW!!
We were able to spend some time with Kim and Mat and the girls at the Boston Childrens Museum. It was a little overwhelming with school being out and all but was so great to see the girls smile. Mady wanted to know "is Hopey hungry?" which was our cue to go get some food at the Barking Crab. AWESOME Lobster Rolls and beer. It is always so special to spend time with the Solso's and so hard to say goodbye.
Friday night we met up with John and Kathy and went to Kens and my very first Celtics game. We were able to score some tickets by waiting until the 1st quarter to get them. About 10 rows back from court side. It was unreal, and they won!!!
Saturday we walked around chilly Boston for the morning and enjoyed the most hilarious lunch at The Hub Pub. I would go back there in a heartbeat. The owner was such a weirdo he was great!! And everyone else around at the bar had their own little funny story including the professional funnel cake maker. I think you "had to be there" but it made our afternoon. www.thehubpub.com/
Saturday night we all got dressed up and went to Kevin and Alyssa's wedding at the Seaport Hotel in Boston. It was quite the formal affair. The food was soooooo good!! Open bar all night but the best part of the night was the band. "The Boston's" were a 12 piece band that played everything under the sun. They kept people dancing all night. The decor was superb and it was really neat to have the video from the ceremony streamed in to show everyone - quite unique.
On our Anniversary, we all went to another hilarious and perfect place for brunch called Lucky s Lounge http://www.luckyslounge.com/ in the Waterfront area. It is a Frank Sinatra inspired restaurant. They had a live band who were super talented. We all ate at the bar and sang Happy Birthday to Jo JO. It really could not have gotten any better (except if Heather and Chuck were there) but otherwise it was perfect!!!
Our Anniversary dinner started in the North End and then to the Union Oyster House. Home to where Ken had his first Lobstaaaa. So memorable.
