Thought it was time to finally show you some pictures of one of the most amazing places on the East Coast and certainly a very special place for Ken and I. As a birthday gift for Ken and a "Surgery Moon" the GM at The Sanctuary called in a favor at The Inn at Palmetto Bluff. Thanks to Vijay Ken and I were able to go and spend two days at this beautiful resort!
From the very drive into the place we knew it was special. They give you a CD to put in your player while you drive the mile up to the front drive. Once you get there the bellman took all of our luggage and put it on a golf cart. They then parked our car and we didn't touch it the whole weekend! Everywhere you went you either biked, walked or took a golf cart.
One of our favorite parts of the whole weekend is Hannah was able to come! Its a pet friendly resort and lord did she make it her home. The minute she got there she was behind the front desk being pet by the everyone! The concierge (who is our new best friend) loved Hannah (and Ken :) )
When we got into our "house" which is how the resort is laid out we were met with a wonderful bottle of wine and fruit basket compliments of the GM. HANNAH even had a bed with a menu for her dinners - seriously! It was awesome. We immediately took the bottle of wine out back and sat in the chairs overlooking the river. It was so calming - just what we needed.
Ken's cousins were in the area and stopped by with their two adorable kids!
The "town" was so adorable and had some amazing restaurants! They have a chapel for weddings right in the middle of town.
"Porching" was the big thing to do - around 4:00pm all the guests come up to the main house for cookies and lemonade to "Porch". Of course Hannah came too.
We dined at the Canoe Club which was super memorable. They have a fire pit where you can toast s'mores in the evening and even had local raccoons to hang out with!!
By the end of the trip Ken Hannah and I did not want to leave. It will forever be a place we visit (if we can afford to) and will hold very close to our hearts.
It was our 2nd honeymoon - how lucky are we??
